Privacy Policy
Last updated June 17, 2026 · See also the Cookie Policy.
This site, buttercut.io, is the marketing site for ButterCut, made by TubeSalt, LLC. It’s a static website, and we’ve kept data collection deliberately small. Questions? Email andrew@tubesalt.com.
The ButterCut app runs on your computer
ButterCut is a tool you install and run locally inside Claude Code. Your raw video files never leave your Mac or need to be uploaded. This policy is about the website you’re reading now, not the app.
What we collect
Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly tool that sets no cookies and collects no personal data. It reports aggregate numbers like page views, never anything that identifies you.
Your cookie choices. When you make a choice in the cookie banner, we record it so we can show that consent was given. That record holds a random id (created in your browser, not tied to your name or email), the choices you made, the policy version, a one-way hashed form of your IP address, and a coarse browser/OS label (like “Chrome/macOS”). We never store your raw IP address or full browser details. The record is kept by TubeSalt, LLC.
Embedded videos. Some pages can embed YouTube videos. They load only if you turn on video embeds in the cookie banner. Once a video loads, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies, governed by Google’s privacy policy.
What we don’t do
No advertising trackers, no selling your data, and no account needed to browse. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server request logs as part of serving it.
Your choices
You can change your cookie choices any time — open cookie settings. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser. For details on each cookie, see the Cookie Policy.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When the cookie practices change, we update the policy version shown in the banner and on the Cookie Policy page.
